A Hollywood Film Is Funding Fake News As Part Of Its Publicity Campaign
If I had a nickel for every meeting I was in where some over-excited exec pitched a hoax as part of an ARG or marketing campaign, I’d have $78.45.
I really wish we had more transparency as to who creates these campaigns. Perhaps then we could create some form of institutional knowledge, so the same damn mistakes don’t get made again and again and again.
I still work on projects where “This Is Not A Game” is treated as an ironclad law, instead of an outdated, self-defeating design choice.
